1
Place the wheat bag in the center of your microwave. Make sure the bag is flat and evenly distribute the contents of the bag.
-
2
Fill a cup with water and set it in the microwave next to the bag. As the water heats it will add a slight moisture to the air in the microwave. This will prevent the contents of the wheat bag from getting excessively dried out.
-
3
Set the microwave for one minute and thirty seconds. This is the average length of time it takes to heat a typical rectangular-style wheat bag.
-
4
Start the microwave.
-
5
Check the temperature. Gently place your hand on top of the wheat bag. Continue heating the wheat bag in 15 second increments, until the bag reaches your temperature requirements.
-
6
Remove the bag from the microwave carefully. Use tongs to pull the wheat bag out of the microwave, if it is extremely hot.
-
7
Place the bag on the area that requires therapeutic attention. A typical wheat bag will retain heat for thirty minutes.
