How to Consume Bee Pollen

Bee pollen has recently become popular as a dietary supplement. Touted as "nature's multivitamin," many people take it to increase energy and assist weight loss. Claims about vitamin content are not backed up by any scientific evidence, but if you have decided to incorporate bee pollen into your diet, there are several ways to do so.

Instructions

Read the directions on the back of the bottle.

Take the recommended dose of your bee pollen capsules daily. These capsules can be purchased at most health food stores.

    • 2
Just like salt and pepper, sprinkle the pollen on your food.

Sprinkle one teaspoon of bee pollen granules over your food each day. Bee pollen has an earthy flavor so it is probably best over breakfast toast or cereal.

The lemon juice drink can be used as an occasional meal substitute.

Mix one teaspoon of bee pollen into your favorite drink. It works well in coffee and green tea and can also be mixed into an energy drink. Combine 3 freshly squeezed lemons, cayenne pepper, honey, cinnamon and a teaspoon of the bee pollen granules and drink twice a week in place of lunch. If this is a little too tangy for your taste, try mixing the pollen into a milk smoothie instead.

Swallow the granules straight from a teaspoon when you wake up in the morning. After a while you will get used to the taste.
