Pumpkin Seed Cures for Pinworms
Pinworms are the most common worm infection in the United States. Pinworms, also known as threadworms, are a type of roundworm that infect young children most often, but adults are vulnerable as well. They live in the colon and rectum of the host and cause extreme itching. Without proper treatment, a pinworm infestation may spread to entire families and beyond. In addition to doctor-prescribed medication, several natural home remedies are known to help get rid of pinworm infestations, including the consumption of pumpkin seeds.Things You'll Need

Separate 10.5 oz of raw pumpkin seeds into small portions and crush thoroughly. Use a smaller dosage for young children, typically 1.5 to 5 oz depending on the child's age.

Add 2 cups of water to the crushed pumpkin seeds and apply a steam bath for two hours on low heat. You can create a steam bath on the stove by placing the mixture on a rack or steam basket in a saucepan that has a lid, adding two inches of water, covering the pan and turning the heat to simmer. Alternately, you can use the microwave by placing the mixture in a microwave-safe bowl, covering with plastic wrap, and microwaving on high for a short time.
