How to Operate a Portable Vaporizer
A vaporizer allows a person to get the desired effect of tobacco and other herbs without actually having to smoke them. Using tobacco and other herbs in this manner is much, much healthier than smoking them, since the smoke itself creates several of the health risks associated with smoking. The obvious advantage of a portable vaporizer is the fact that you can take it anywhere with you. Many different types of portable vaporizers exist, but the vast majority of them basically work the same way.Things You'll Need
- Vaporizer
- Material to be vaporized
- Lighter fluid (sometimes a lighter will be needed to operate your vaporizer)
Instructions

1
Grind up the material you intend to vaporize. The better your material is ground up, the better your vaporizer will work.
-
2
Access the filling area--sometimes called a bowl or a filling cap--and put the ground-up material into the filling area. Do not overfill it.
-
3
Close up the filling area if your vaporizer requires you to do so. Some of the pipe-like varieties do not require this.
-
4
Fill the butane tank if your vaporizer requires it. This butane tank should be clearly marked on your portable vaporizer. The fuel tank on some models is entirely removable from the vaporizer. Again, some pipe-like models will not require you to do this.
-
5
Attach the mouthpiece if your vaporizer requires it. Some portable vaporizers will not require this step.
-
6
Turn on the heating apparatus of your vaporizer and inhale. Most vaporizers require you to wait 30 seconds or so before inhaling, but in order to be sure of the amount of time it takes for you vaporizer to work properly, read your user's manual.
-
7
Clean out the filling chamber before reloading or after you are finished using your vaporizer.
