How to Grind Goldenseal Root

- Mortar
- Wire-mesh screen
- Airtight container

Lay the Goldenseal roots on a wire-mesh screen and leave in a well-ventilated and warm room. It should be around 95 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Leave the roots for a couple of days. Test the roots by trying to snap them -- they should be brittle with no internal moisture.

Put the dried roots into a mortar and grind to a powder using a pestle. You can also use a food processor for this to save time.

Transfer the powdered Goldenseal root to an airtight container and store in a dark, cool place.
