Upset Stomach
-
Clove oil, when ingested in water, has been known to ease stomach pain and quell nausea. There are several methods of administering clove oil to treat a stomach ache. The simplest way is to add a few drops to an 8-ounce glass of water. Some advise taking clove oil with sugar to treat stomach pain. Adding a few drops of clove oil and honey in warm water is another method for easing nausea and stomach pain.
Mouth Pain
-
One of the most common uses of clove oil is for toothaches and minor mouth pain. Historically, dentists have used clove oil as an anesthetic during procedures, and as a disinfectant during root canals and other invasive procedures. You can use clove oil as a treatment for minor mouth pain by dipping a cotton swab in pure clove oil and applying it to the painful spot. Alternatively, you can treat toothaches and mouth pain by adding a drop of clove oil to a cup of tea, or by suspending clove oil in water to make a powerful antiseptic mouth wash.
Itching Rash
-
Clove oil can soothe itchy rashes and skin irritation associated with conditions like scabies, when applied topically or as part of a compress. According to Medical News Today, clove oil demonstrated its ability to kill the mites that cause scabies in a 2010 study. To use clove oil as a treatment for scabies or other itching skin conditions, dilute it with a mild carrier oil like grapeseed oil, which will dilute the powerful clove oil to a usable degree. Add one or two drops of clove oil to a teaspoon of your carrier oil to start, and adjust the intensity as needed.
