Vapor Cannon Vaporizer Instructions

Vaporizers use a hot plate to heat dried herbs or tobacco to a temperature at which the active ingredients in the plant release an aromatic vapor, but do not burn or produce smoke. This vapor is then inhaled by the user. By avoiding the creation of smoke, vaporizers minimize the amount of tar and noxious gases produced. This is healthier for the smoker and anyone else nearby, as vaporizers do not release secondhand smoke. For smokers of pipes or cigarettes, vaporizers take some adjustment, but models such as the Vapor Cannon are simple to use.

  Turn the nob on the front of the Vapor Cannon to "Max" and let it warm up for three to 10 minutes, then turn the nob back 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn.

  Grind the tobacco or herbs you intend to use. You can use a mortar and pestle, a coffee grinder or a food processor to grind. Pack the tobacco or herbs into the tip of the vaporizer's glass hand piece. To pack, you can use a poker, pen or pencil. Do not pack the material too tightly; this reduces airflow and results in burnt material. The Got Vape website recommends packing up to 1/3 or less of the bowl volume.

  Ensure that the heating iron is glowing dimly red. If it is orange, it is too hot and you should turn the vaporizer off for 10 seconds to let it cool.

  Lightly touch the Pyrex tip full of packed material to the glass covering the heating iron. Hold the tip in place there and take a slow, deep breath through the mouthpiece attached to the other end of the tube. You may not notice any feeling in the throat or lungs; vaporizers produce cool vapor rather than abrasive smoke. Turning the temperature of the vaporizer higher will produce a smokier inhalation, but this reduces the health benefits.

  Clear the used herbs by pulling the tip away from the heating element, holding it over a garbage bin, and blowing into the mouthpiece. This will push out the material.

  Repeat the packing and inhalation process until satisfied. Rotating the packed tip and poking the loose material between inhalations will cause it to heat and vaporize more evenly.

  Clean your Vapor Cannon. This needs to be done regularly to keep it operating efficiently. The glass part of the tube can be cleaned by pouring running water through it, or by steeping in alcohol overnight to clear buildup. Inside the tip that touches the heat iron is a metal filter that can get clogged with resin. Clean it by pulling it out and burning the clogged resin off with a lighter. Dirty or fouled tubing can be replaced at most hardware stores.
