How to Make a Vaporizer Light Bulb

Smoke inhalation of any kind can be a health hazard, but there is an alternative: vaporizing. Vaporizers convert material into vapor for inhalation with less harm than inhaling smoke. Several commercial-produced vaporizers are available on the market, but they can cost up to a $1,000 or more. Knowing how to make your own vaporizer out of a light bulb and a few household materials can be a cheap and easy way to start vaporizing.

Instructions

    • 1

Pry the metal tip away from the ceramic base of the light bulb with a knife. Work your way around the edge slowly and evenly to remove the tip.

    • 2

Twist the tip of the knife in the opening of the ceramic base of the light bulb. This will cause it to crack.

    • 3

Remove the cracked ceramic portion of the light bulb.

    • 4

Insert a screwdriver into the hole in the base of the light bulb to break the filament.

    • 5

Shake the pieces of broken filament out of the light bulb.

    • 6

Wash the light bulb, 6 inch rubber tube and plastic bottle cap in warm water with dish soap. Dry thoroughly with a towel.

    • 7

Carve a hole the diameter of the 6 inch rubber tube in the center of the plastic bottle cap.

    • 8

Insert the 6 inch rubber tube into the hole in the plastic bottle cap. Make sure the 6 inch rubber tube fits snugly in the hole.

    • 9

Screw the plastic bottle cap with the rubber tube sticking out of it onto the metal base of the light bulb.
