Aconite Remedies

Aconite, also known as monkshood, is a plant that is used to naturally treat certain ailments and conditions. Parts of the aconite plant are toxic, so it must be used in a particular way. It can be prescribed in place of medications for infections, anxiety disorders and physical ailments.
  1. Fear and Anxiety

    • Aconite is a homeopathic treatment for psychological problems, like fear, anxiety and shock. If a person goes through something traumatic, whether it is being witness to a crime or losing a friend or family member, there may be feelings of shock. Aconite is sometimes used to treat those feelings of shock. It can also help to alleviate chronic fears, such as fear of flying or death. Feelings of anxiety can also be treated with aconite.

    Infections

    • Aconite is used in place of antibiotics for certain infections. Respiratory infections, which result in coughing and breathing problems, can be treated with aconite. Similarly, dogs can contract a condition known as kennel cough. It is contagious, and it causes dogs to have a hacking cough, which aconite can alleviate. Eye and ear infections, which are viral or bacterial, are also healed with aconite.

    Physical Problems

    • Physical problems are also treated with aconite. Aconite is administered for severe pain caused by arthritis and rheumatism. Sunburns are treated with a topical form of aconite. Sciatica is chronic pain that is caused by compression on the sciatic nerve. Aconite is used as a remedy for toothaches.
