Drink milk, eat yogurt or consume some other form of dairy product. Dairy products are extremely basic and will immediately work to neutralize the acid buildup in your system.

Place a small piece of jiggery, an unrefined sugar product, in your mouth and suck on it as if it were hard candy. Continue to consumer the jiggery until the acidity subsides. You can also use cloves for this purpose.

Consume pieces of banana, watermelon or cucumber when you feel acidity problems building. These can help to lower the overall acidity level in your body.

Elevate the upper part of your body or sit or stand completely upright. This will prevent the acid from spreading farther from your stomach.

Drink coconut water, mint juice or cabbage juice three to four times per day if you regularly suffer from acidity, or if you know you will eat something that may cause discomfort. These drinks will increase the level of liquid in your body and will also control acidity.
