Description

Amla grows in clusters on trees in early spring. It appears pale yellow with gray bark. The leaves of the amla fruit smell like lemon and are 10 to 12 millimeters long.

Amla contains 200 times more vitamin C--also known as ascorbic acid--than the amount in oranges. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that boosts the immune system.
