1
Boil 2 cups of distilled water over the stove on high heat; reduce to medium heat when water starts bubbling.
-
2
Add 3 teaspoons of dried and chopped eyebright to your water, and cover for about 20 minutes. You can also add a bulb of eyebright, if you can't find it in chopped form. Eyebright is an herb that has been used to treat a variety of things, including eye problems, and can be found at most herbal or health food stores.

Remove from heat and allow the solution to cool completely. Have someone hold a coffee filter and pour the solution through it into another clean container. This will help weed out any particles or pieces of eyebright. Repeat this step one more time with another coffee filter.

Pour wash into an eyewash cup and wash out the affected eye, then pour out and rinse your eye wash cup. If you wear contacts, remove them before using the eyewash.
