According to Herbalist.com, barberry has natural antihistamine properties used to fend off allergic rhinitis (nasal allergies). Barberry is available in capsules, tinctures and is sometimes used as a topical ointment. To create barberry tea, take two to four grams of dried root and steep it in hot water. Drink the tea three times a day for nasal-problem relief.
Ephedra

Ephedra is a natural herb that has been used for medicinal benefits since ancient China. Ephedra is best known for its healing effects on chronic inflammatory diseases such as asthma, bronchitis and nasal congestion and sinusitis. The University of Maryland Medical Center states ephedra's active ingredient, ephedrine, contains alkaloids and pseudoephedrine which ease inflammation in the lungs and the nasal cavity. Ephedra used to treat nasal problems should be administered or recommended under a doctor's guidance. The herb can be taken in liquid or capsule form. Ephedra can have adverse effects on individuals with heart problems.
Fenugreek

Fenugreek, a natural herb indigenous to Asia and India, has antioxidant properties which act as a mucus solvent. According to The Epic Center, "Fenugreek relieves congestion, reduces inflammation and fights infection. [It] contains natural expectorant properties ideal for treating sinus, and loosens and removes excess mucus and phlegm." Fenugreek can be taken in tablet or root form. You should consult with a physician or health professional before taking fenugreek.
