Herbal Teas to Help With Gas & Bloating
Burping, passing gas, and being bloated are all natural but can be very uncomfortable and embarrassing. Bloating and gas are caused by a number of things, but there are some herbal tea remedies found at the local grocery store that can help give relief. Herbal teas are a natural and safe way to get relief from discomfort.-
Fennel Tea

Fennel tea is known for its anti-cramping properties, according to the Grandma's Wisdom website. The tea is so safe and gentle it can be mixed in food or even in a baby's bottle. Pour 1 cup of boiling water over 1 to 2 tsp. of fresh crushed fennel seeds. Allow the mixture to sit on a hot stove, but do not bring to another boil. Once it cools, drink 1 cup up to three times a day for relief of bloating and gas.
Oregano Tea

Oregano is often used in Italian and Greek cuisine. Oregano is commonly used today in treating flatulence (gas), bloating, and indigestion. Mix together 1 tsp. of dried oregano or 3 tbsp. of fresh crushed herb in 8 oz. of boiling water for 10 minutes.
Peppermint Tea

Peppermint tea is prepared from dried leaves and can be found prepackaged in most grocery stores. To make homemade peppermint tea, boil 1 cup of water for 10 minutes and add 1 tsp. of dried peppermint leaves. Strain the leaves, let cool and drink four to five time daily. According to The University of Maryland, peppermint will calm the muscles in the stomach and improve the flow of bile.
Chamomile Tea

Chamomile helps improve the function of the digestive system and expels trapped gas. Mix 1 cup of boiling water with 1 to 2 tsp. of dried chamomile and cover. Let steep for 15 minutes. Once the tea cools down, strain and drink.
Anise Tea

Anise, also known as aniseed, is an effective remedy for bloating and gas. Anise can be found at a health foods store or online. Pour 1 cup of boiling water over 2 tsp. of dried anise. Let steep for 15 minutes, then strain and drink.
