Herbs to Overcome Stage Fright
Stage fright tops the list of many people's all-time worst fears. Whether you experience intense fear before giving a speech in public or singing in front of an audience, you can overcome your stage fright with a little practice and courage. Several herbs can help you along the way to performing fearlessly in no time.-
Oatstraw

Oatstraw, also called avena sativa, provides one of the most soothing treatments for stage fright. This herb relaxes the nervous system and relieves stress. Oatstraw is also gentle enough for you to use every day and has no known drug interactions. It's most effective when used in a tea. Infuse 2 tsp. of dried oatstraw in 1 cup of boiling water for 15 to 20 minutes before drinking.
Scullcap

Scullcap, another excellent soother of nerves, acts as a sedative and relieves nervous tension. This herb is available as a powder or as a liquid extract. The easiest way to take it is as a tea. Infuse 1 to 3 grams of scullcap into 1 cup of hot water. You can drink this tea up to three times per day with no adverse effects.
Passion Flower

Passion flower, often used for its sedating effects, allows you to function onstage while feeling relaxed and soothed. Be careful, though, because this herb makes some people feel drowsy. Passion flower comes in an easy-to-mix liquid form. To combat stage fright, mix 30 drops of extract with orange juice or water and drink 1 hour before performance time.
Kava

The kava plant has long been known for its calming properties. Drink it in tea form right before a performance to help ease stage fright and quiet the nerves. Lavender

Use lavender to quiet the nervous system, and even to help you fall asleep. This herb works efficiently as a tea or lotion, as the lavender aroma itself has calming properties. To make a lavender tea, steep 1 to 2 whole herbs in 1 cup of water for at least 15 minutes. Lavender has no known side effects or interactions with other medications.
