Herbs for Internal Parasites

Internal parasites can be transmitted when you eat undercooked meat, drink water that has not been treated or boiled, or have contact with a person who has a parasite. Internal parasites can be dangerous and even life threatening if left untreated. There are many over-the-counter and prescription methods to treat parasites. However, herbal methods are easy to administer at home and since they are all natural, there are no toxic chemicals involved.
  1. Bayberry Tea

    • To prepare a bayberry tea, boil a cup of water. Pour the water over top of 1 teaspoon of bayberry. Allow the tea to steep for 15 minutes and then strain the bayberry out of the tea. Drink a cup of tea, three times a day until the parasites are gone. The bayberry tea will help remove and kill the parasites in your system.

    Parasite Tea

    • If you have intestinal parasites, making an herbal parasite tea can help flush the parasites from your system. To make the tea, boil 3 cups of water, plus 1/2 teaspoon each of chamomile flowers, elecampane root, ginger rhizome, rosemary leaves and thyme leaves. The herbs can be found at natural food stores. Once the ingredients come to a boil, turn off the heat and allow the mixture to set for 30 minutes. Pour the liquid through a strainer to remove the herbs and then drink the tea. You will want 1 cup per day for every 50 pounds you weigh. Once the parasites are gone, you can discontinue the tea.

    Garlic Mixture

    • Separate four heads of garlic into unpeeled individual cloves. Place the cloves with 1 pint of apple cider vinegar into a blender. Blend until the mixture is incorporated and then place it in a storage container and leave for two weeks. Pour the mixture through a strainer to remove the garlic. Add a tablespoon of honey to mixture to sweeten it. For every 50 pounds in weight, take 3 teaspoons daily until the parasites are gone. This can also be used as a preventative. If stored in an airtight container, the mixture can hold for years.

    Tansy

    • Tansy is a flowering plant that is part of the aster family. It is available in tea form at natural health stores. Drinking the tea form of this herb is known to get rid of worms, such as round worms and thread worms. For the tea to be effective in the treatment of worms, it is recommended that you fast while taking it.

    Grapefruit Extract

    • Grapefruit extract can be found in the vitamin section of your local pharmacy. Take the capsules according to package directions or, if you prefer, you can use the liquid form. The extract is gentle enough to be taken over a long periods of time to help get rid of existing parasites as well as prevent future parasites from setting up shop in your body.
