The mangosteen is a fruit native to Asian countries such as Thailand, India and Vietnam. This fruit contains antioxidants called xanthones that have potential health benefits for humans. Xanthones act as an anti-inflammatory agent, provide cardio support,and strengthen the immune system. However, side effects from consuming mangosteens have surfaced as well.-
