How to Combine Holy Basil & Ashwagandha

Holy basil, also known as tulsi, and ashwaganda are used in ayurvedic medicine. Both herbs contain anti-inflammatory agents that have powerful effects on the body. Ashwaganda enhances immunity and might help to kill cancer cells. Holy basil helps to enhance detoxification so the the body can eliminate toxins.   • Tea ball
  • Measuring spoons
  • Ground ashwagandha root
  • Holy basil leaf

Instructions

      Open your tea ball. Measure out three-fourths a teaspoon of ground ashwagandha root per cup of tea. Put the root into your tea ball.

      Measure out one-half a teaspoon of holy basil leaf per tea cup, and add it to your tea ball. Use your spoon to mix the holy basil evenly through the ashwagandha.

      Add one-fourth teaspoon of ground Rhodiola rosea root to your tea ball. Mix it evenly with the ashwaganda and holy basil. Rhodiola is an excellent addition to your herbal blend because it helps to reduce fatigue due to stress and protects the heart from damage caused by stress.

      Pour 1½ cups of water per cup of tea into your saucepan. Close your tea ball and attach it to the side of the pan so that the herbs can soak in the water.

      Boil the tea ball in the water for 15 minutes and then remove your tea from the heat. You can drink two to three cups of the tea a day.
