According to Orexis.com, Orexis is an herbal supplement, taken once daily, containing what the site refers to as "potent aphrodisiac herbal concentrates"; it is used to enhance the male libido by stimulating sexual activity, creating enhanced erections that are more easily maintained, and to increase the production of sperm. Orexis explains on their site that the ingredients in Orexis come from potent plants found in China, Europe and South America; through a patented process they are concentrated 15 times to a pharmaceutical quality.

Tribulus Terrestris

• Information on Orexis.com describes Tribulus terestris as a plant that is a natural testosterone enhancer, used to increase testosterone levels by helping to boost luteinizing hormone that influences sex drive. Tribulus terestris has been used to increase virility, sex drive, and potency. It contains saponins, polysaccharides, sterols, flavonoids and fatty acids.

Epimedium

• The Orexis site asserts that Epimedium is a traditional Chinese medicine that is gaining popularity in Western homeopathy. Its leaves contain flavonoids, polysaccharides, sterols and magnaflorine. Though its specific use is unknown, it is used to boost sexual desire and stamina, maintaining erections, libido and sexual vitality.

Yohimbe Extract

• Yohimbe's ingredient definition on Orexis.com states that "it is an evergreen botanical native to Africa containing a substance called yohimbine." It also includes similar compounds known as indole alkaloids. Orexis asserts that synthesized versions of yohimbine have been used medicinally for decades and that yohimbe is traditionally used as an aphrodisiac to boost sexual desire.

Muira Puama

• The Orexis site identifies the Muira puama ingredient as a shrub native to Brazil used to enhance libido and sexual potency. According to Orexis.com, a "French study showed 62 percent of patients with loss of libido had significant improvement."

Panax Ginseng

• Panax ginseng is an ingredient described on the Orexis site to fight fatigue and create extra energy; it is also used as an aphrodisiac. Panax gingseng fights a loss of sex drive and stamina and normalizes blood pressure. According to Orexis.com, "a key ingredient of ginseng is ginsenoside, which alters blood flow to the brain and penis and can build blood and sperm."

Catuaba Bark Extract

• Orexis.com states that catuaba is an ingredient with a long-known reputation as an aphrodisiac. The Orexis site qoutes Dr. Meira Penna with the following explanation: Catuaba "functions as a stimulant of the nervous system, above all when one deals with functional fatigue of the male genital organs...it is an innocent aphrodisiac, used without any ill effects at all."

Damiana (Turnera aphrodisiaca)

• The information on Orexis.com describing the ingredient damiana says that ancient Mayans used damiana as an aphrodisiac. It is associated with improved sexual function in males and females as well as for its sexual enhancing properties and ability to positively affect the reproductive organs. Orexis.com states: "the pharmacology of the plant suggests that its alkaloids could have testosteronelike actions."
