How to Prepare Ashwagandha Root

Ashwagandha is found in India and North America. It is widely used by men as an aphrodisiac, and works as an antibiotic, pain reliever. It aids in sedation, and improves urinary health. However, since there are some known side effects from overdosing with ashwagandha, you should be cautious when taking it. Ashwagandha should be prepared carefully to take advantage of all the benefits and reduce the side effects. One method is to create ashwagandha tincture.

Instructions

    • 1

Divide the ashwagandha into two separate piles (100 grams each) and put each pile into a different glass jar.

    • 2

Pour 500 milliliters of alcohol into each glass jar. Never use an alcohol other than ethyl alcohol or you may poison yourself.

    • 3

Seal the glass jars (make sure the seal is air tight) and put them in a place with no light (you can put them in opaque containers or bags). Leave the jars there for two weeks but remember to shake them everyday so that the mixture will react evenly.

    • 4

After two weeks, unscrew the lids of the jars and take a piece of cheesecloth and cover the top so that it is tight and will not slip off.

    • 5

Place the contents of the two jars into a larger jar. Try not waste any of the mixture; squeeze out all of the remaining liquid out of the ashwagandha herbs. Throw the herbs away.

    • 6

Seal the 1 liter jar (air tight) and sample it whenever you want, not exceeding 1 teaspoon daily. For optimal results, keep the mixture under the tongue, which helps the ashwagandha chemicals get into the bloodstream more efficiently.
