Herbs for Kidney Inflammation
Kidney problems such as inflammation and pain can affect people both old and young, children and adults alike. While serious problems and infections should be diagnosed and treated by a licensed physician, difficulties that aren't serious enough for medication may be treated with herbs and supplements. Additionally, some supplements can be taken to prevent kidney difficulties and to help preserve good organ health. It's also important to remember that inflammation and pain might be caused by something else, such as kidney stones or bleeding.-
Vitamins
-
Certain vitamins can be taken to help promote kidney health and to avoid many types of damage that could cause problems with these organs. Taking significant doses of vitamin A can help the body maintain an adequate mucus membrane, in addition to helping the body regenerate and repair damaged tissues. Vitamin C should also be included in a supplement, as it can act as a mild diuretic which can also help stabilize the walls of blood vessels in the body. These are more preventative, but their presence can help reduce inflammation in the kidneys.
Teas
-
Information about and ingredients of herbal teas should be carefully read over before they're used. Many herbs, such as the horsetail herb, gravel root and juniper berry are used to make teas and baths to help relieve kidney pain and inflammation. However, there is usually more in the tea than just that single herb. Read over all the contents to make certain that there's nothing listed that might cause an allergic reaction, or which might interact negatively with any medication that you're currently taking. Additionally, follow all preparation instructions to be sure that the teas are made properly so that they have the intended effect.
Consultation
-
It's often a good idea to consult with your doctor before taking any herbs for kidney inflammation, whether as a preventative measure or as a treatment. Alternative medicine shouldn't be kept separate from more traditional medical advice, and your doctor may have important information that you would not. Additionally, your doctor may know which herbs or which supplements work best for kidney inflammation in general, or which would work better for you based on your health history and medical records. In any case, talking with your doctor is never a bad precaution before taking any sort of herbal treatment, for any reason.
