How to Eliminate Skin Tags

Skin tags are annoying collections of skin that grow on your neck, face, and underarms. They usually start out as flat, but if left alone can grow quite large. Skin tags can be painful if nicked with a razor or clothing and unsightly if they are allowed to grow too big. Most skin tags do not pose a serious health threat, though some are actually cancerous growths. There are several avenues that you can try in order to remove a skin tag from your body.

Instructions

    • 1

Apply three drops of tea tree oil to a wet cotton ball and rub on the skin tag. Repeat three times a day until the skin tag falls off.

    • 2

Wrap a small piece of thread around the base of the skin tag and make a knot. Make the knot as tight as possible without causing pain. The skin tag will die and fall off after a few days.

    • 3

Apply a thin layer of clear fingernail polish directly to your skin tag. Do this three times a day until the skin tag falls off.

    • 4

Pull the skin tag off of your skin with a pair of tweezers. Grab the skin tag close to the skin and pull. This is a very painful method and may cause minor bleeding, but the results will be immediate.

    • 5

Apply an over-the-counter wart remover to the skin tag. Follow the directions on the package, treating the skin tag as though it were a wart.

    • 6

Speak to your doctor about having the skin tags removed surgically.
