Hair loss or thinning can be very devastating to both men and women who experience it. Hair loss tends to be genetic; thinning hair begins between 30 and 40 years of age. More men experience a complete balding than women.-

Male hair loss is due to hormones and heredity. Female hair loss is due to aging, hormones, and genetics. Women experience more thinning patterns, while men experience thinning which can lead to total baldness on parts of the scalp. (See Resource 1 and 2)
Herbs

There are herbs that can help reduce the rate at which hair loss happens and stimulate hair growth. These include, ginkgo extract, milk thistle extract, relora, and green tea all help with lessening hair loss. (See Reference 3)
Dosing Herbs

Milk thistle extract, 80 to 160mg. two or three times per day, gingko extract, 40 to 80mg. three times per day, relora, 250mg. 1 to 3 times per day, and green tea extract, 100 to 300mg. 3 times per day. All are safe to take together. (See Reference 3)
Significance

Recommended herbs should start at the first sign of thinning hair or before thinning occurs if there is a family history of hair loss.
Considerations
-
Since extracts give you more potency overall, purchase herbs in standardized extract forms rather than as whole herbs.
