How to Make a Epsom Salt Poultice
Things You'll Need
- 2 tablespoons dried or fresh lavender
- 4 tablespoon Epsom salts
- Small pot
- 2 clean linen or other fabric strips large enough to cover the affected area
- 1 longer fabric strip

Place lavender and Epsom salts into the pot, and add 1/2 cup of water. Heat the entire mixture until it has the consistency of paste.

Lay out two strips of fabric one on top of the other to make a double-layer bandage for the affected area.

Spread the Epsom and lavender mixture on the fabric strips, allowing enough area to cover the wound or injury.

Place the treated strips on the injury, and use the third strip to tie the poultice in place. If you are wearing the poultice to bed, use additional fabric or clothing to protect bedclothes.

Repeat as needed.
