Green Tea & Plantar Wart Remedies

Plantar warts are rough, flattened, callus-like growths that develop on the heel and bottom of your feet. Plantar warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and often have tiny black dots in the center of each wart. The warts can cause pain not only in your feet, but also in your legs and back. Plantar warts are often treated with an over-the-counter product or a prescription. You can also treat your planter wart(s) with daily doses of green tea.
  1. Green Tea Treatment

    • Mix one teaspoon of pure green tea extract in a cup of hot water. Stir the mixture well, cover it and let the mixture steep for 10 minutes. Prepare and drink four cups of green tea mixture each day until the plantar wart is gone---usually within two weeks. Make sure the green tea extract is pure and caffeine-free. Refrain from using sugar or a sugar alternative in the cup of green tea.

You can also prepare a tea from green tea leafs. Grind the leaves into a powder, place in a cup of hot water and strain before drinking.

When drinking green tea, refrain from consuming alcoholic drinks, caffeine-based drinks and foods, refined foods and sugar. These drinks and foods can counteract the green tea treatment.

    Cold Drinks

    • You can also drink the green tea mixture cold over ice if you don't like hot drinks.

To help you remember to drink the green tea treatment, eliminate other drinks from your house or place of work and drink the green tea treatment with each meal. Drink your final cup of green tea before you go to bed.

    Follow Up

    • Check the condition of your feet after two weeks. Your plantar wart(s) should be gone. If your plantar wart(s) is not gone and has changed in appearance, is irritated or painful, see a doctor immediately. He may recommend having the plantar wart removed through cryosurgery, "freezing" the wart to destroy the growth or some other means of wart removal (electrosurgery---burning, laser treatment or surgically cutting the wart off).
