Home Remedy for Face Mold

Mold is a type of fungus found everywhere. Mold spores may infect the skin and often create rashes or acne. There are home remedies for the mold affecting the face, and it can easily be treated with acidic solutions found in your kitchen cabinet. Sometimes a change in diet may go a long way in curing and preventing mold from infecting the face.
  1. Cause of Face Mold

    • There are tiny fungal spores in the air that can cause mold. The impurities caused by fungus spreads in the different parts of your body and even to the face. If your skin gets infected it will result in sensitive, red, irritated and itchy skin, and sometimes it resembles acne. Although there are different antifungal creams sold in the drug store or other over-the-counter medications for this problem, there are home remedies that include vinegar, toothpaste, and garlic and lemon juice that may help the infection.

    Apple Cider Vinegar Wash

    • A vinegar solution can help you get rid of the fungi on your body or face. To produce a vinegar solution, you need apple cider vinegar and distilled water. Mix the two in a plastic container in equal portions. Wash your face with the vinegar solution, concentrating on the infected part of your skin. You can do this twice daily, in the morning and before going to bed.

    Direct Application

    • You can also apply the apple cider vinegar directly to your face. Dip a cotton ball in pure apple cider vinegar and rub it around the affected area of your face. Depending on the severity of the infection, there may be a sting. However, the visible and apparent signs will vanish after a few days.

An alternative way to use the vinegar is to directly apply it and then use toothpaste to cover the infected area overnight. Mold needs moisture in order to survive, so this remedy acts by letting the skin dry out.

Using garlic and lemon can also cure the infection. Garlic has anti-microbial properties, which can help clear the face mold. Rub a sliced garlic onto the area of infection and let it sit for a few minutes. Then use lemon juice to rinse it off the face.

    Diet

    • Avoidance of foods that contain a high amount of sugar, wheat and yeast may help stop mold on the face. These foods often encourage the fungus to be attracted to the skin and grow.
