NuHair is a non-prescription product created and sold to assist with hair loss in men and women. It consists of pills and a topical agent applied to hair on the scalp.

Ingredients for Men

• NuHair for Men pills contain folic acid, biotin, pantothenic acid, iodine, zinc, he shou wu root powder, silica, bioperine extract, saw palmetto extract, phytosterol complex, kudzu extract and soy extract. The daily recommended intake of vitamin B6, biotin and pantothenic acid is greatly exceeded in one dose.

Ingredients for Women

• NuHair for Women pills contains vitamin A, niacin, vitamin B6, pantothenic acid, biotin, he shou wu root powder, hydrolyzed collagen, black pepper, ginkgo, horsetail extract, horse chestnut extract, uva ursi, black cohosh extract, burdock extract and cayenne. The daily recommended intake of biotin and pantothenic acid is greatly exceeded in one dose.

Approval

• NuHair has not been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Side Effects

• There is some concern that NuHair could cause unhealthy side effects. Excess vitamin B6, biotin and pantothenic acid can cause nerve damage in arms and legs, though the damage is usually reversed when the supplements are stopped.
