Herbal Medicines for Kidney & Bladder Infections

According to the Mayo Clinic, a urinary tract infection (UTI) involves both the kidneys and bladder, in addition to the ureter and urethra. Women are more likely to suffer from urinary tract infections, which may be painful and frequent if not taken care of. It is essential to treat a UTI to prevent the infection from spreading to the kidneys, which could cause serious complications.

    • A suggestion of the Mayo Clinic is to drink water throughout the day to dilute urine and help flush out the bacteria causing a UTI. Beverages that contain citrus juice or caffeine may increase bladder pain and increase frequent urination. Use a heating pad on the lower abdomen to relieve pain, and sit in a warm bath to reduce muscle aches or cramps.
