Herbal Cure for Peyronies Disease

When the fibrous connective tissue thickens on the penis, this condition is referred to as Peyronie's disease. Many experts do not fully understand the disease or why it occurs, which makes prevention and treatment difficult. That leaves some men searching for alternative methods of treatment. Herbal remedies are becoming increasingly popular and people are finding them to be very effective in the treatment of Peyronie's disease.
  1. Supplements and Herbal Remedies

    • Bromelain can be taken daily to help with Peyronie's disease. Take 750mg three times a day. This should be taken on an empty stomach for the best results. Bromelain is a pineapple enzyme, which is helpful with digesting proteins. Other digestion enzymes can be purchased at your local health food store. Papaya enzymes are also helpful. This helps prevent the deposition of fibrin, which some experts speculate may be the cause of the tissue to thicken.

Gotu kola can also be taken and helps support healing of normal connective tissue, as well as development in the penile area.

Supplements should be taken for up to six weeks before results may be noticed.

    Vitamins

    • Taking the appropriate amount of vitamins is also beneficial in treating and preventing Peyronie's Disease. Vitamins E and B-Complex are very helpful. Calcium is also important for treating the disease. Some men find channel blocker injections and radiation therapy helpful in treatment.

    Antioxidants

    • Antioxidants are also important to healing. There are many natural antioxidants available in fruits and vegetables. For strong antioxidants, try drinking Acai berry juice (available in local health food stores) on a daily basis. Only one to two tablespoons of Acai berry juice is needed each day. If the individual finds the taste to be unsatisfying, he or she can mix it with one to two cups of plain vanilla yogurt and one tablespoon of ground flax seed. This has somewhat of a cheesecake taste, is more desirable to many and can be eaten for a quick antioxidant boost in the morning. Other fruits that provide antioxidant support include blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. Antioxidants are also packed full of vitamin A, which as mentioned above, is believed to be beneficial in treating Peyronie's disease. Carrots, squash, broccoli, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, cantaloupe and peaches are also packed full of good antioxidants and may be beneficial to treatment.
