Natural Remedy for Mold Allergy
Allergies to mold affect men, women and children. The most common symptoms of a mold allergy include stuffy noses, congested chests and nasal passages, runny eyes and itching. Allergy medication in the form of pills or shots helps control allergies, but there are several natural strategies to deal with mold allergies and with the symptoms they cause.-
Herbs and Supplements
-
Fresh oregano, garlic and olive leaf extract are all antifungals. They combat the mold in your body before it even has a chance to cause symptoms. Ginger is an anti-inflammatory, so it will work on symptoms like congestion and stuffed-up passages. Echinacea is an herb that strengthens your immune system, so it will help your body ward off molds that might cause allergies in the first place.
Foods to Eat and Avoid
-
Eat plenty of yogurt, which contains live culture. These live cultures feed on the yeast in your body which the mold would otherwise feed on. Eat foods that are high in vitamin C, like tomatoes and oranges. Vitamin C helps strengthen your cells in general and will help your body fight off the mold. Vitamin C will also help alleviate symptoms.
Sugar and wheat are both ingredients that molds feast on. Eat less of these so that the mold will find your body an unsuitable environment.
Decongestants
-
Use natural decongestants in place of synthetic ones used in allergy mediation. Eucalyptus is a natural decongestant. Rub it under your nose and on your chest. Put a few drops at the base of your nose before sleeping at night. Eucalyptus is naturally soothing and helps to alleviate your symptoms.
