1
Slice your astragalus root into thin slices. They can be wide, but they should be relatively thin so that a lot of the interior of the root will be exposed by the time you are done cutting it up. Stop slicing when you completely slice the root to pieces, or when you have a cup of astragalus slices.

2
Boil the astragalus root in the chicken broth. You can use as little as one can of chicken broth if you want a strong astragalus tonic, or two or three cans for a weaker blend. Boil the astragalus until the roots lose their color and become mushy. Strain them out or leave them in for consumption as you choose.

3
Drink your astragalus tonic daily. You might start having a cup of your tonic with lunch, or enjoy it as a soothing, herbal treatment after a hard day's work.
-
4
Take a daily echinacea supplement. Echinacea is most commonly used to fight off colds, but it also stimulates stem cell production. Most supplements can be taken once a day in the morning or the evening.
