Natural Homeopathic Herbal Remedies for Acne

Acne is a common skin disorder. Acne may be only a mild problem for some people, but for others, it may be a severe problem that can be very embarrassing and difficult to deal with. The main cause of acne is hormones in the skin glands, which can lead to plugged skin pores. Kids and teens aren't the only people who have problems with acne; adults sometimes struggle with it too. Many people are desperate for any type of acne cure they can find, including homeopathic and folk remedies.
  1. Herbal Berry Tea

    • A pack can be made in someone's kitchen. Simply boil raspberry, strawberry and blackberry leaves (approximately 50 mg of leaves total) in a liter and a half of water for about three minutes to make a tea. Dip a washcloth in the warm water and allow to cool enough to place the washcloth on the face without burning or irritating the skin. The individual may wish to recline or lie on his or her back to allow the washcloth to remain in place. Allow the cloth and liquid to soak into the skin for 10 to 15 minutes. This application can be completed two to three times a day.

    Apple Cider Vinegar

    • Apple cider vinegar is not an herbal remedy, but it is worth mention, as it can be used for many things, but it can also be used to ward off acne. Organic apple cider vinegar is the best, because of its acidity. Keep it in a small container near the bathroom mirror. Small glass containers that seal or even an empty film canister work well. Dab fingertips into the apple cider vinegar and gently blot on all acne spots. Apple cider vinegar can be applied two to three times a day and can be applied daily to ward off recurring acne. This application helps clear up acne as well as preventing future outbreaks. It is a noninvasive and inexpensive method of treating stubborn acne.

    Olive Oil

    • Another interesting acne treatment is steam the face for 10 minutes. This can be done by running a hot shower and sitting in the room with the door shut or by leaning over a pot of hot water with a towel over the head, being careful not to steam burn the face. An anti-bacterial face wash should be used. Allow the anti-bacterial face wash to sit on the face for 10 more minutes before rinsing off. Mix a tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil with one teaspoon of sugar and gently scrub the moistened face with the mixture. Allow this mixture to sit on the face for 10 more minutes and then thoroughly rinse, being careful to pat the face dry gently. This application can be repeated every three days. For the days between this application, thoroughly wash the face in the mornings and just before bed using the same anti-bacterial face wash, being sure to apply a good moisturizer and toner afterward.
