Medicinal Plants That Can Cure Skin Diseases

Since antiquity, plants have been used to cure skin diseases. Many of these plants can be found in your own backyard, while others are found in more parts of the world, such as the Amazon Rainforest and India.

Dithranol

• Derived from the Araroba tree in Brazil, Dithranol can be used on the body in controlling the spread of Psoriasis. However it should not be used on the face of genital area.

Pau D'arco

• Pau d'Arco, found in the Amazon rain forest and Mexico, is used to cure eczema.

Abrus Precatories L.

• You can also use equal quantities of onion juice mixed with the juice of Abrus precatories L. to cure ringworm. This plant is known as "ratti "in the Indian vernacular.

Azadirachta Indica

• Azadirachta indica or Neem is considered to be the most powerful antiseptic in Indian naturopathic medicine. It is used for many skin ailments, such as pimples and boils. Just apply the juice of Neem leaves on the affected area.

Argemone Mexicana L.

• Also known as Mexican prickly poppy, this herb is poisonous if taken internally. However, the juice from the crushed seeds herb can be used on the surface of the skin to relieve itching and skin allergies.

Evolvulus Alsinoides (L.) L plant.

• An indigenous plant of India also known as Shankhapushpi, is used to cure scabies by treating the area with the juice of the crushed plant.
