Vertigo Treatment
Often confused with more generic terms like lightheadedness or dizziness, vertigo refers to the perception that you are physically moving or that your surroundings are moving when both you and your surroundings are still. Vertigo is most commonly caused by illness in either the peripheral vestibular system or the central vestibular system of the inner ear. Aside from the perception of motion, additional symptoms of vertigo include nausea, sweating, abnormal movement of the eyes and other vision problems, hearing loss or a ringing sensation in the ears, difficulty in speaking, decrease in consciousness and general weakness.

If you would prefer to fight your vertigo in a natural way, there are several recipes utilizing herbs and raw foods that are believed to help reduce vertigo, according to the Natural-Home-Remedies website.
One vertigo remedy consists of a teaspoon of amla or gooseberry powder combined with a teaspoon of coriander seeds. Place the powder and seeds in a glass of water and let them steep overnight. Strain and drink the water in the morning. If you can't drink it as it is, try adding sugar to improve the taste. You may need to drink this recipe a few mornings in a row to see improvement in your condition.
A second traditional recipe thought to relieve vertigo is a mix of almonds, pumpkin seeds, poppy seeds and wheat germ. Combine seven or eight almonds, seven or eight pumpkin seeds, one teaspoon of poppy seeds and three tablespoons of wheat germ. Soak the entire mix in water overnight. The following morning, remove the almond skins and return the almonds to the mix. Grind the mix into a paste. Fry a half a teaspoon of cloves in two teaspoons of ghee (clarified butter), mix in the paste, and add enough milk to make a liquid. Boil the mixture and drink it as is or sweetened with sugar. This recipe may also need to be used several days in a row.
