1
Place 100 grams of the dried Ashwagandha into two of the canning jars. Pour 1/2 liter of vodka or rum into each container. Do not use rubbing or wood alcohols, as they are considered harmful. Seal the jars tightly with their lids to ensure no evaporation of the alcohol.
-
2
Place the jars into the paper bags, and close the bags to provide a dark environment for the infusion. Store the tinctures in a cool place, such as a cupboard or closet. Shake the tincture jars every day while waiting for them to infuse.
-
3
After two weeks, open the jars and bring out the third 1-liter canning jar.
-
4
Place a piece of the cheesecloth over the jar, and pour the liquid into the new container. Pour slowly to avoid spilling and to ensure that all the herbs are strained out. Squeeze the strained herbs to remove all their liquid and dispose of them.
-
5
Place a fresh lid tightly over the top of the new container. Use the label and marker to write "Ashwaganda Tincture" and the date on the label.
-
6
Take 1 teaspoon of the tincture under the tongue every day for best results.
