Uses of Skullcap

Skullcap is an herb found in sunny moist areas from New York to West Virginia and in many southern states. Skullcap leaves are of various sizes but the plants can all be recognized by their distinct seed pods and hooded flowers. Skullcap has myriad uses and benefits.

    • Skullcap has been used for hundreds of years by Native Americans and most especially by the Cherokees. Skullcap was used as a strong female medicinal tonic and ceremonial herb. It was also used to treat schizophrenia and rabies.
