Home Remedy for Sinus Pressure in Teeth

Sinus pressure can cause headaches and a general feeling of disconnection; however, those who experience major sinus pressure may feel this in their teeth. The sinus cavities are located throughout the front of the head, and since these cavities are closely located to the teeth, sometimes the pressure can cause toothaches. While there are treatments for sinus issues, most contain synthetic chemicals that can make you drowsy and further escalate your discomfort. Herbal remedies for sinus pressure will relieve pressure within the head and teeth. Always discuss any remedy with your doctor prior to consuming.
  1. Eucalyptus Oil Vapor

    • Eucalyptus is commonly used to treat respiratory issues that are associated with the flu and the common cold. The main active ingredients within this herb are tannins and flavonoids. When tannins are introduced to the body, they are able to reduce inflammation wherever applied. Flavonoids are comprised of powerful antioxidants, which fight off free radicals as well as harmful bacteria that can cause infections and disease. To relieve sinus pressure, eucalyptus oils are able to break loose phlegm and mucous that is causing the sinus cavities to feel pressure.

To utilize this remedy to relieve sinus pressure within the teeth, bring six cups of water to a rolling boil. Once the water has been boiling for two minutes, carefully pour into a heat-safe container and place 15 drops of pure eucalyptus oil directly into the steaming water. Drape a towel over your head and lean over the container, allowing the towel to enclose your head with the steam. Breathe normally for five minutes before releasing the towel and pouring out the water. You may experience coughing during this time, as the mucous from your sinus cavities will begin to break free.

    Licorice

    • Licorice, which is also known as sweet root, is commonly used by both Western and Eastern medicine for its medicinal qualities. The active ingredient within this herb is glycrrhizin, which is responsible for reducing inflammation, soothing the digestion tract as well as supporting the movement of mucous from the sinus cavities. Not only will this herb be able to reduce the amount of sinus pressure you experience, but with its ability to stimulate the adrenal glands, you will also find this herb to be calming during stressful times as the adrenal glands control the regulation of cortisol, the hormone that causes stress, within the system.

You will want to consume at least 300 milligrams per day--never exceeding 500 milligrams. You will want to consume 150 milligrams in the morning and 150 milligrams at night to control the secretion of mucous and help eliminate sinus cavity pressure.
