How to Treat Spider Veins With Parsley

Spider veins are similar to varicose veins, except smaller and closer to the surface of the skin. They are usually red or blue and look like little thin threads of spider webs on the legs and sometimes the face. These small swollen veins can sometimes be treated topically. Instead of investing money in over-the-counter treatments, make your own using herbs. Parsley is full of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, iron, manganese, calcium and potassium. The large amount of vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that encourages the production of collagen and aids in cell repair and reproduction. Over time, when used regularly, spider veins treated with parsley will gradually diminish. This is an extremely easy treatment to make at home.

Instructions

    • 1

Chop a handful of fresh parsley. Boil the parsley in 1 cup of water for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat, cover and allow to steep until lukewarm.

    • 2

Strain the infusion. Add 1 drop each of rose and marigold essential oils. Marigold has anti-inflammatory properties and is often used to treat spider veins. Rose oil is used to reduce fine lines associated with aging. Rose hips (from which rose oil is derived) are high in vitamin C, too, which helps with cell regeneration.

Allow the infusion to sit until cold. Apply to the spider veins using cotton balls. Do this daily for several months, if necessary.
