Testosterone Supplement Side Effects

Men who take testosterone should be aware of the side effects. Having high levels of testosterone in the body can produce side effects that are permanent, while others will resolve themselves when testosterone levels are decreased and at a more normal range. Testosterone Allergic Reactions

These include hives, rash, itching, chest tightness and trouble breathing, swelling of the face or tongue, swelling of the legs or ankles, weight gain, breast growth, pain in the breasts, changes in the shape or size of the testicles, light-colored bowel movements, dark urine, urinary changes, loss of appetite, nausea, painful erections, prolonged erections, stomach pain, mood and memory changes, fatigue and yellowing skin and eyes.

Testosterone Cypionate Side Effects

• Men taking testosterone cypionate may experience acne eruptions, changes in their sex drive, hair loss, headaches and a bitter taste in the mouth. Oral problems may also arise. These include gum swelling, tender gums and gum pain.

Testosterone Enanthate Side Effects

• Men taking testosterone enanthate may experience a bitter taste in the mouth and hair loss. They may also develop acne, headaches and changes in their sex drive. Oral problems are also a side effect of testosterone enanthate and can include gum pain, tender gums and swelling of the gums.

Testosterone Gel Side Effects

• Testosterone gel can enlarge the breasts and make the breasts tender. Men may also notice changes in their sex drive. Skin irritation may also occur at the site where the gel is applied. The allergic reactions to testosterone gel is the same as the allergic reactions to testosterone that is taking orally.

Testosterone Patch Side Effects

• Men who use the testosterone patch can experience changes in their sex drive. They may also feel fatigued, have headaches and suffer from hair loss. Just as with other forms of testosterone, the testosterone patch can cause oral problems such as swelling gums, gum pain and tenderness. Skin irritation may occur at the site where the patch is applied. The allergic reactions to the testosterone patch is the same as the allergic reactions to testosterone that is taking orally.
