How to Take Beta Sitosterol for Hair Loss
Beta sitosterol is a natural plant extract used to stop hair loss in men and women. It has androgen-blocking properties which enable it to target the hormones responsible for male and female pattern baldness. When taken orally as a daily supplement, beta sitosterol has been shown to work best on men and women who have only recently noticed excessive hair loss or signs of premature balding. It's less effective on people who have had significant hair loss over the years.Things You'll Need

1
Consult your doctor before taking beta sitosterol for hair loss. Beta sitosterol is also used to lower cholesterol, so make sure it is safe to take, especially if you have low or normal levels of cholesterol.
-
2
Take between 60 and 130 mg of beta sitosterol every day. You can take the supplement with or without food.
-
3
Continue taking beta sitosterol for hair loss for at least six months. It usually takes about six to 12 months before you notice any significant changes.
-
4
Monitor your progress with photos and notes to determine changes in hair-loss patterns. Stop taking beta sitosterol after a year if you haven't noticed any definitive results. If the supplement hasn't had any effect on your hair-loss patterns after a year, chances are it will never make a difference even if you continue taking it.
