Hyland's Calms Forte 4 Kids are small sublingual tablets that combat restlessness in children and promote sound sleep. Hyland's Calms Forte 4 Kids combines a mixture of herbs that are reported to have a slight tranquilizing effect. These tablets can be used on children ages two and older. The tablets dissolve almost immediately under the tongue and work within a half an hour. They are reported to be completely safe, although Hyland's Calms Forte 4 Kids has not been evaluated by the FDA. The all-natural ingredients work synergistically to calm your child. The ingredients are listed as a formula, and can be difficult to identify.

  1. Aconitum Nap

    • The main ingredient aconitum nap. This is also known as aconite, a plant that grows in western England and is considered poisonous. The aconite level in Hyland's Calms Forte 4 kids is extremely low and will not poison your baby. Hyland's website claims that Aconite is effective in treating physical and mental restlessness in children.

    • The second ingredient in Hyland's Calms Forte 4 Kids is calcium phosphate, which is derived from a common, nonpoisonous herb called dragon's blood. Dragon's Blood has been shown to provide relief of aches and pains in the joints, as well as restless leg syndrome.

    Chamomilla

    • Chamomilla is simple chamomile. It's used to treat insomnia and stress. The Hyland's website says chamomile fights restlessness, irritability and sleeplessness.

    Cina

    • The third ingredient, cina, has been used throughout history to treat worms, but has also been used to treat children with nightmares. Hyland's website says this ingredient is used for this purpose as well as to treat irritability.

    Lycopodium

    • The fourth ingredient, lycopodium, is a plant found on the eastern coast of North America, and is more commonly known as wolf's claw. It has traditionally been used by people recovering from cancer and cirrhosis of the liver. It is used in Hyland's Calms Forte 4 Kids for focus and emotional sensitivity.

    Natrum Muriaticum

    • The fifth ingredient, natrum muriaticum, is table salt. Hyland's website suggests that this ingredient helps with irritability, crying and oversensitivity.

    Pulsatilla

    • Pulsatilla is an herb more commonly known as the pasque flower. It has been used throughout history to treat colic and exhaustion in children. Hyland's website says it is a remedy for crying for no reason and sleeplessness due to travel.
