GET THE PLANTS: You can purchase dried or powdered marigolds online or at a health food store, but it is easy to grow your own. Either plant them from seed in the spring, or pick them up in flats at your local nursery. Either way, you will have beautiful blooms and leaves all summer long that you can use for these recipes. I am using fresh flowers in these recipes.

EXTRACT THE POWER: Pick a couple dozen stems, complete with flowers and leaves. Pick all the leaves and petals off of the stems and pack them in a clean, one quart canning jar. Pour in boiling hot water to cover and let stand for 2 hours. Put the lid on tightly and shake vigorously for a few minutes. Strain out the solids and store the liquid in a canning jar. Use this liquid in these recipes.

USE THE BODY SPLASH: Use the liquid straight up on any areas with spider veins. Just splash a little on and let air dry. You can do this daily, as many times a day as you like.

MAKE A MARIGOLD MASK: For a more potent treatment, make a mask. It sits on the skin a little longer so it has more time to do its work. Just add about 2 tbsp of the liquid to 1 egg white in a blender. Blend on high until emulsified. Spread this mixture on problem areas and allow to dry. Wash off with warm water and follow up with a splash of cold water. Make this a weekly treatment and a regular part of your beauty regimen. This can be used on face, legs or anywhere spider veins are a problem.
