How to Get Rid of a Ring Fever Blister

Anyone who wear rings has probably felt that itching and burning feeling underneath the rings that indicates a watery blister or two. These are often referred to a ring fever blisters. While annoying and a possible source of infection, these blisters are generally harmless and easy to treat. As soon as you notice the itching and burning feeling you can begin the healing process.

  • Water
  • Vinegar
  • Sterilized needle
  • Peroxide
  • Antibiotic cream (Neosporin)

      Remove all rings and place them in a container of one cup of water mixed with two tablespoons of vinegar.

      Wash your hands with hot water and hand soap. This will remove sweat and dirt that could get into the blisters and cause pain and infection.

      Use a sterilized needle to pierce the center of the blisters. Don't dig deeply, just pierce the top layer of skin so that the fluid can leak out and medication can get in.

      Drip peroxide on the affected area. Peroxide will clean inside the blisters and around them. This may sting a little, but it is a small price to pay to clear up the problem and be able to wear your rings again.

      Dry your finger and apply a small amount of antibiotic cream to the area. Rub it in well and keep the area uncovered. Keeping germs out while allowing the air to reach the blisters will help heal it quickly.

      Rinse your rings in warm water and put them aside until the blisters have healed.
