Heat it up! Putting heat on the area where you are feeling pain and discomfort is the quickest way of alleviating menstrual cramps. If you are going to be at home for the greater part of the day, the most effective type of heating pad is an electric heating pad. If you are going to be outside of the home, there are a number of heating pads that do not require any electricity to function. These heating pads stay heated for 12 hours and deliver great results.

Make a pot of chamomile tea. Use chamomile flowers and avoid tea bags for the best results. Bring a pot of water to a boil and add 2 tsp. of chamomile flowers into the water. Allow about 3 minutes for the water and chamomile to mix in well. Place a colander over your cup and pour in the tea.

Take a hot bath. Bubbles and candles aren't necessary, but they sure do help you relax. Place the candles far away from any towels or your shower curtains to prevent a fire.
