Use a chamomile infusion to reduce the discomfort of motion sickness. German chamomile is the best variety for a tea to combat the travel sickness blues. Simply steep chamomile flowers in boiling water.

Prepare a ginger and cayenne tea to bring along on your trip. Grate an inch of ginger root into a glass jar. Add a dash of cayenne pepper, and pour boiling water over the blended herbs. Steep for 5 minutes. Pour the liquid through a strainer. Sip the tea about 30 minutes before departure. Carry the remainder in a thermos. Sweeten with honey if desired.

Add a few drops of peppermint essential oil to a handkerchief. Sniff as you travel. Peppermint settles an upset stomach.

Take black horehound as a tea or in tincture form to prevent nausea that comes with motion sickness. A relative of peppermint, black horehound settles the nerves with its volatile oils.
