How to Use Mustard to Cure Chronic Coughs
-
1
Mix the flour, egg white and mustard together in the small bowl. Use a spoon or fork to mix the ingredients until they form a yellowish paste.
-
2
Coat your upper chest area thoroughly with Vaseline. The paste will generate heat as it sits, so the Vaseline will prevent burning and skin irritation.
-
3
Fold the paste up inside the handkerchief. It will make a squishy poultice for your chest.
-
4
Secure the poultice to your chest using the athletic wrap. Do not wrap yourself too tightly or the mustard mixture will ooze out.
-
5
Dress warmly.Even if the weather is warm, put on long sleep pants and a long-sleeved shirt.
-
6
Rest for about an hour. When you get up, your cough should be gone. If at any point your chest begins to feel uncomfortably warm, add more Vaseline and then replace the poultice.
