Lighten Hair With a Chamomile Cream Rinse
-
1
Bring 1 cup of water to a rapid boil.
-
2
Reduce the heat and drop in 8 chamomile tea bags. Allow them to simmer for at least 15 minutes.
-
3
Remove the pot from the stove.
-
4
Remove the tea bags from the water. You can dispose of them or save them for use in other chamomile remedies.
-
5
Add 1/4 tsp. of lavender oil to the water.
-
6
Stir in 1 cup of yogurt. Don't use fancy-flavored yogurts, as this mixture will be going in your hair.
-
7
Mix well to ensure that all the ingredients have been evenly blended.
-
8
Massage the mixture into your hair. From tip to root, make sure that your hair is completely covered.
-
9
Cover your hair with a shower cap. Make sure that all your hair is tucked inside. Leave the shower cap on for 30 minutes.
-
10
Take the shower cap off and wash your hair. Use a regular shampoo and warm water. You might want to wash your hair more than once to make sure that all the chamomile rinse has been washed away.
-
11
Allow your hair to dry naturally. When it does, your hair should have a natural chamomile glow. Repeat the process as necessary to achieve the desired look.
Add Chamomile to Shampoo
-
12
Boil a pot of water.
-
13
Remove the pot from the heat and submerge 2 tsp. of dried chamomile petals. Allow them to soak for 30 minutes.
-
14
Pour the mixture through a colander to remove the chamomile.
-
15
Combine the chamomile water with a bottle of mild shampoo and mix well. Baby shampoos are ideal. Don't add chamomile to stringent designer shampoos.
-
16
Use the shampoo regularly to wash and lighten your hair.
Make Chamomile Conditioner
-
17
Combine 1/3 cup of olive oil with 1/3 cup of chamomile flowers. Sunflower or safflower oil can be substituted for olive oil.
-
18
Seal the mixture inside a glass bottle or jar.
-
19
Leave the jar in direct sunlight for 2 weeks. A windowsill would be ideal. At least once a day, you should shake the jar to circulate the chamomile.
-
20
Strain the oil by pouring it through a colander. This will remove the chamomile flowers from the oil before you use it in your hair.
-
21
Apply the chamomile oil to your hair. Use 2 tsp. for short hair or 4 tsp. for longer hair. Allow it to set for at 10 minutes.
-
22
Rinse and shampoo your hair.
