Pediatric Massage Therapist Schools

Research has shown that pediatric massage has many benefits, especially in reducing anxiety and chronic pain in children. Although infant massage is popular and widely taught, pediatric massage training to massage older children is less available. Typically, pediatric massage instructors teach classes, which massage schools or individuals have arranged, around the country.

  1. Gentle Massage for Children

    • Gentle Massage for Children, LLC, offers a variety of pediatric massage classes, designed for massage therapists, parents and healthcare professionals. The instructor, Shay Beider, teaches a specialized therapy she developed called Integrative Touch, which can be used for both healthy and ill children. For massage therapists who want to specialize in massage for children, Beider offers two certification programs: Certified Pediatric Massage Practitioner (CPMP) and Certified Pediatric Massage Specialist (CPMS). The CPMS requires more classes than the CPMP.

      Beider is an approved continuing education provider for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) and the California Board of Registered Nursing. She teaches classes throughout the United States.

    Liddle Kidz

    • Liddle Kidz offers pediatric massage training for massage therapists and health care professionals who want to massage children with special health care needs, who are hospitalized or who have a terminal illness and are in hospice care. The program provides a credential as a Certified Pediatric Massage Therapist (CPMT). Liddle Kidz is based in California but teaches classes throughout the United States and Canada. Liddle Kidz is an approved continuing education provider for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), the California Board of Registered Nursing and several massage organizations in Canada.
