Instructions
-
-
1
Wake up in the morning and do not brush your teeth, eat or drink anything.
-
2
Get a glass of distilled or purified water. Do not use tap water, as minerals and impurities in tap water may affect the results of the test.
-
3
Fill the water almost to the top of a clear glass.
-
4
Spend a few seconds collecting as much saliva as you can. The best method for doing this is to roll your tongue around your mouth. Following the same methods that you use for collecting saliva for spitting.
-
5
Gently spit your saliva into the glass of water.
-
6
Observe the glass for up to 15 minutes and note what the saliva does. If your saliva rests at the surface of the water with extending strands dipping below the water (like a jellyfish), you may have a yeast buildup. If your saliva sinks to the middle of the glass and then disperses in specks, or if your saliva sinks all the way to the bottom and collects in a lump, you may also have a buildup of yeast.

7
Call a doctor for possible treatments for the yeast buildup, or purchase an alternative medication (such as ThreeLac) to treat your symptoms.
