Sesame Oil for Healing
Sesame oil has been used for healing for many years. It is spoken of in the Vedas, the writings of the ancient Hindu teachings, as being an excellent healing oil for humans. Because is has natural antibacterial properties it is great for treating several throat and other common skin infections. Naturally antifungal, it also helps with athlete's foot fungus. Used extensively in India as a healing ointment, sesame oil has a wealth of uses and with its long history of healing properties, makes a great and useful addition to the modern day medicine cabinet.-

Sesame seed oil is made up of oil that is extracted from the sesame seed. Sesame oil contains Vitamin E. Vitamin E is considered an antioxidant and may be helpful with lowering cholesterol levels in the body. Sesame oil also contains magnesium, calcium, iron, zinc and vitamin B6. It also is known to contain copper. Sesame oil is a natural alternative medicine with beneficial healing properties for many ailments and symptoms.
Skin Applications

The zinc in sesame oil helps with many skin irritations. Apply sesame oil directly to the skin after exposure to wind or sun to soothe burns. It may also be applied to the scalp to help with dry itchy skin and helps to kill the bacteria that leads to dandruff. Massage lightly into the skin to protect from the effects of chlorine in swimming pools. Sesame oil may also be helpful when applied to skin after radiation treatments, as it is thought to neutralize the influx of oxygen radicals that radiation treatment causes.

Sesame oil may also be used as a douche when mixed with warm water and helps to control yeast infections.

Sesame oil may also be used to treat diaper rash when applied to the diaper area and will help to protect the tender baby skin against acids released by bodily wastes. To prevent infection when children go to school or will be in a bacteria-rich environment, swab the nose with some sesame oil. This will help to protect against air borne viruses and bacteria. You can also massage the oil into the scalp to help kill lice infestations in children's hair.
